In the production of methyl methacrylate (MMA) casting sheets, although the material has reached the prepolymerized state required by the process after the high-temperature polymerization reaction in the boiling kettle, prolonged exposure to high temperatures can cause residual initiators to continue initiating chain reactions, easily leading to viscosity runaway, yellowing, or even gelation and spoilage.
To address this, we have designed an MMA cooling kettle: a key post-processing device with a volume matching the boiling kettle (2–3 tons), specifically designed to rapidly cool the high-temperature MMA prepolymer liquid to room temperature. Through efficient cooling and controlled stirring, it completely "freezes" the polymerization reaction, ensuring the material maintains chemical stability during subsequent storage, degassing, or molding processes.

- Receives high-temperature MMA liquid from the boiling kettle;
- Utilizes industrial cooling circulating water as a cold source to efficiently cool the entire kettle of material to room temperature;
- Completely terminates the polymerization reaction, preventing post-polymerization, explosive polymerization, or viscosity drift;
- Provides a temperature-stable and consistent qualified slurry for vacuum degassing, filtration, and mold casting.

Why must it be cooled to ambient temperature?
MMA prepolymer liquid still retains significant polymerization activity above 50°C. Only by cooling to room temperature (≤35°C) can the initiator be largely deactivated, ensuring absolute stability during long-term storage or before molding, and avoiding the risk of batch quality fluctuations or complete batch scrap.
