In my country, the most widely used and technologically mature types of storage tanks are dome-roof tanks, floating roof tanks, and horizontal tanks.
1. Dome-roof Tanks: Dome-roof tanks are steel containers with a spherical dome-shaped roof and a cylindrical body. They are simple to manufacture and inexpensive, making them the most widely used type in many industries both domestically and internationally.
2. Floating Roof Tanks: Floating roof tanks consist of a floating roof that floats on the surface of the medium and a vertical cylindrical tank wall. The floating roof rises and falls with the increase or decrease of the medium's volume. A ring-shaped sealing device exists between the outer edge of the floating roof and the tank wall, ensuring that the medium inside is always directly covered by the inner floating roof, reducing evaporation.
3. Internal Floating Roof Tanks: Internal floating roof tanks are formed by adding a floating roof inside a dome-roof tank. The internal floating roof reduces evaporation losses, while the external dome prevents rainwater, snow, and dust from entering the tank, ensuring the cleanliness of the medium inside.
4. Horizontal Type: Horizontal storage tanks generally have a volume of less than 100m³ and are typically used in production processes or gas stations. The circumferential welds of horizontal storage tanks use lap joints, while the longitudinal welds use butt joints. The ring plates are arranged alternately, with an odd number, to ensure that the end cap diameters are the same.
