Specifically designed for the high-efficiency, large-scale purification of PMMA pyrolysis liquid, the Continuous Vacuum Distillation Column for PMMA employs advanced continuous vacuum distillation technology. Process Flow and Key Operations
1. Continuous Feeding and Establishment of Vacuum Steady State
Crude liquid MMA from the pyrolysis process is fed continuously and steadily into the middle section of the distillation column via a metering pump.
The system is equipped with a high-efficiency liquid-ring vacuum unit to maintain the operating pressure within the column at 10–50 kPa (absolute pressure), thereby ensuring the boiling point of MMA remains stable between 60°C and 80°C.
The column reboiler and overhead condenser work in tandem to establish a stable temperature gradient.
2. Dynamic Reflux Ratio Optimization and Product Draw-off
Once vapor-liquid equilibrium is rapidly established during the initial phase, the system automatically switches to a preset reflux ratio mode.
The overhead condensate is analyzed in real-time using an online gas chromatograph; when the purity reaches ≥96%, the stream is automatically diverted to the purified monomer storage tank.
Should any fluctuations in impurity levels be detected, the system immediately adjusts the reflux ratio or pauses the product draw-off to ensure consistent product quality.
3. Continuous Discharge of Heavy Components and System Self-Stabilization
High-boiling heavy components accumulating in the column sump are discharged into a residue tank at scheduled intervals and in controlled quantities via a continuous residue discharge valve.
The system incorporates nitrogen blanketing and low-temperature discharge designs to effectively mitigate the risk of MMA polymerization at elevated temperatures.
Pressure fluctuations throughout the entire process are maintained within a tolerance of ±0.5 kPa, thereby guaranteeing long-term operational stability.
